Compacting on Clay Pavers....

Anyone know of a better method to compact clay pavers than using a piece of carpet to protect the surface. Besides needing replacing all the time, it doesn't look too professional. Any advice would be appreciated.

I've used a urethane mat on my compactor to protect the surface. Ask PAVE TECH . . . they sell them.
