Is it possible to put down a joint compound in sections? I thought that you needed to do the whole patio at one time but I have a situation where I need to do it in sections. Is this going to be a problem? Also, are there any hazards to putting in sandlock just before it rains? Thanks, Deeds

There is no reason why you can't fill the joints, with stabilized or non-stabilized sand, in sections.

SandLock will not be affected by the rain. It is an organic joint stabilizer and thus, unlike polymeric, can be completely saturated after application. Every time the product gets wet after installation it is reactivated, which will actually heal any types of cracks that may occur from movement. So, to sum it up: no, the rain will not affect it at all.

there's no reason you cant sand the joints in sections...we often do this when we are doing large driveways, also if you are expecting rain and you dont have sand in the joints you must pull out the plastic and protect your pavers...what a pain
