I want to put pavers on a porch so it flows with the walkway. The front of the house is bricked down to the concrete porch and there is cedar posts supporting the overhand and railings. Anybody have advice on paving up to these materials without rotto cedar or damage to brick/mortar?

Copper flashing would work too but does not adhere and would probably trap moisture against the cedar. Clean cedar, let dry thoroughly, prime, apply flashing. Sanding the square edges of the cedar a little would allow the flashing to hug the corners better when applying the flashing.

PaveTech has some that worked well for me...

when installing pavers against adjoining structures that may leach moisture from the bedding sand and base material, it is always a good idea to use some type of flashing material to protect the structure from rot and deterioration. There are several available on the market, from self adhesive flashing and waterproofing tape to paintable waterproofing membranes. I have had success using both. A minor cost to prevent expensive damage in the future.

I ordered tumbled travertine pavers and have new existing porch (900 sq. ft) that will be screened in, however, I have 2 separate porch that connect within, one is a loggia with concrete slab 1/2 inch higher than porch with plywood. I'm thinking about laying flashing membrane on plywood porch before I install 1/2" hardibackers to bring the porch to its eveness with the slab before laying down pavers. My question, do I use cement portland to bond the pavers or do i just use bonding glue? I know I will use waterproof glue on top of screws. Please advise, thanks!

The answer to your question largely depends on what material you are using in the joints between your pavers. Are you sanding the joints, or are you planning on grouting the joints?
